Approach
The Local Police Command of Turin, demonstrating a strong drive towards the digitalization of its operational processes and services, has chosen to modernize and streamline the complex administrative sanction procedures for the benefit of its officers and citizens. Thanks to its integrated ecosystem, Municipia has enabled the Command to achieve its set objectives.
The Local Police Command of Turin is a municipal department responsible for managing one of the most complex processes with significant financial implications for the institution: the administrative sanction procedure. The volume of documents to be processed amounts to approximately 1 million per year, placing the Command among the top three in Italy. As a result, digitalization, speed, and efficiency are the key factors for the project’s success.
To achieve the objectives set by the client, we have redefined all processes with a full-digital approach, guided by user-centered design principles. This has improved the operational efficiency of both the Police Force and the citizens, making digital transformation a key driver in enhancing the entire service through greater simplification and efficiency.
Solution
The Command has a suite comprising a back-office software for case management, a mobile app integrated with the back office to facilitate on-the-go operations for officers and payments for citizens, an online service portal, and integrated services with the postal system for the virtual retrieval of stored documents at municipal offices/virtual offices. Municipia’s strength lies in its ability to adapt software platforms and services to the needs of the Administration and continuously evolve the digital ecosystem.
Concrete examples:
- Digital notifications, which have reduced costs for both the institution and recipients of judicial documents.
- AppIO for advance notices of ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) and preferential lane violations, eliminating notification costs for both the institution and recipients who choose to pay before the judicial document is issued.
Results:
- Lower management/notification costs
- Improved operational efficiency of Local Police resources
- Reduction of errors caused by manual operations
- Enhanced quality of interaction with citizens
