Approach
The Age-it project, funded through the PNRR, aims to improve public policies for the over-65 population, promoting healthy, active, and inclusive aging. The initiative is structured into thematic areas that address 10 challenges, including: understanding the micro and macro demographic factors of aging, studying the biology of aging, clinical and functional factors related to multimorbidity, analyzing life-course trajectories of active and healthy aging, care and assistance, and developing technological tools to meet emerging needs.
Municipia, a company of the Engineering Group, is the technology partner of Age-It. We have worked on the design and development of a decision-support platform aimed at mapping the socio-economic vulnerabilities of the over-65 population at a territorial level. The platform overcomes existing information fragmentation by integrating various public databases into a unified system, enabling a comprehensive approach to territorial vulnerability analysis and decision-making support.
Solution
Through the creation of specific territorial dashboards, policymakers will be able to visualize vulnerable areas within their regions in terms of social, economic, housing, and family fragility, with a focus on the over-65 population. This will enable them to plan targeted interventions, enhancing the effectiveness of public policies and the quality of services for the elderly. The platform is designed to integrate additional public datasets (open data) while fully complying with privacy regulations, incorporating mechanisms to anonymize citizens’ sensitive data. Results:
- Collection and analysis of income data to identify economic disparities
- Mapping of housing location, residential areas, and improvement of living
- Household analysis
- Geolocation to understand the distribution of elderly individuals and services
